Kamlekha (Name changed) moved to Delhi with her family in 2008 and her and her husband found out they were HIV positive, Thankfully, both their children were negative.

Her husband was jobless, and the family had no food to eat. When she joined Aashiana, she was given money immediately to buy food and pay rent. "I was treated like family, something I never received in my own village," she recalls.

Shahrbano is given the option to work flexible hours, allowing her to stay at home and look after her family as well as earn an income which has allowed her to earn enough to cover her basic needs - it has not just become a job, but a new life for her and her family. Champi (Name changed) moved from Bengal to Delhi in 2001. Her life changed forever in 2003 when her husband was diagnosed with HIV. In 2010, after her husband passed away, Champi suffered depression. At Aashiana she learned jewellery making and began earning a steady monthly salary. This income gave her financial independence and the ability to support her daughter's education.
